The Skin Gun: Crazy Spray-on new skin for burn victims
Technology + stem cells are amazing things. Basically, this gun does what the name says, its sprays on new skin for burn victims. Within a few days the burn victim will be healed. Amazing!
It works by taking some immature skin, called keratinocytes, from somewhere on your body, then its cultured for about 1.5 hours. Once its ready, the formula is sprayed on the victim’s wounds. According to this video, there are over 12 people successfully treated so far. I hope that this will become a standard tool in every hospital’s burn unit.
Be warned though, the video is a little graphic. So if you are queasy, then just listen along.
